If you're looking for indoor playgrounds where the kids can have fun while beating the heat (or to escape from the rain) here's our list of over 30 indoor playgrounds!

In an ideal world, we'd love to take our kids out to the fields or forest, spending an afternoon frolicking in the breeze, stopping to smell the flowers and getting up close with nature while we set up picnic mats...

But let's face it: this is Singapore, where it's a cruel summer all year round. The weather's hot and humid enough to unleash the frizziest hair, ruin our makeup and trigger heat rash; the wildlife we are most likely to encounter are bloodsucking mozzies and pesky red ants. Not the best setup for running loose in on a given afternoon. And let's not talk about how sudden thundery showers can easily rain on our parade.

We may be just 734.3 sq km, but there are a staggering number of indoor playgrounds in Singapore -- boasting cooler temps than the outdoors, of course. These indoor playgrounds provide lots of demarcated, entertaining and age-appropriate areas for kids to expend their boundless energy, while sheltering them from the elements. Think ginormous ball pits, mega-long slides, bouncy castles, trampolines, obstacle courses, climbing walls and roleplay zones. The possibilities for play are endless!

Here's our list of the best indoor playgrounds where kids can have fun, including new ones such as VroomTown at Marina Square and Kiztopia Prestige at New Bahru. Some of these playgrounds have cafes and corners for adults to chill out, which come in real handy for those with older and more independent kids.

Now all that's left to do is to take your pick and mark your calendar. Then, get your non-slip socks and water bottles ready!
