A curry-based dish with tender chunks of chicken. Try this tasty recipe at home for a healthy spin on this hearty dish!

  • 1.5 kg fresh chicken, cut into 12 pieces and washed with salt, rinsed well
  • 250 ml coconut milk
  • 100 ml water
  • Salt, to taste
  • 3 tbsps canola oil
  • 4 cloves garlic
  • 8 stalks chilli padi
  • 4 cm ginger
  • Turmeric leaves, for garnishing
  • 8 cloves shallots
  • 15 stalks dried chillies
  • 1 tbsp meat curry powder
  • 3 cm fresh turmeric

Add chopped shallots, garlic, dried chillies, chili padi, ginger, meat curry powder, canola oil in a food processor or blender.


Pour blended mixture into a large pot with oil. Sauté until cooked. Then add water, coconut milk and stir well.


Add chicken pieces, stir and mix evenly on low heat for 5 minutes. Then simmer on medium heat till gravy thickens.


Garnish with turmeric leaves before serving.
