A mouth-watering side dish can be easily whipped up by combining sambal with tempeh. This recipe is straightforward and foolproof, but still extremely addictive. The nutty crunch of fried tempeh just goes so well with spice!

Ingredients

  • 5 long red chillies
  • 2 to 3 shallots
  • 100 g tempeh, sliced
  • Vegetable oil, for frying (only the tempeh)
  • ¼ tsp salt
  • ¼ tsp sugar

Fry tempeh in hot oil until it’s crispy and remove from oil.

Pound the other ingredients into a semi-fine paste.

03.

Lastly, pound in the tempeh just enough to break it up.
