The FW18 runways have proven that velvet is officially cool again. With the likes of Saint Laurent, Frame and Nomia awash in its opulence, there's no better time than now to try out this tricky trend (hey, if it fails, blame it on the runway trends!). Rather than look like the drapes in Queen Elizabeth's bedroom, velvet is getting a proper update, and is no longer relegated to robes and smoking jackets.
And where it may have had a serious relationship with nightlife before, we dare say that there’s no better place to rock velvet than at the office. Hey, at least it’s chilly in there, might as well take this chance to warm up in lush velvet.
