I bought this hoodie right before my girls’ trip to Fukuoka in March, as an act of self-care. It was perfect for the spring weather! The oversized fit and super soft fleecy fabric feel like a non-judgmental therapy session that meets me where I am. I could wear this all day — not exaggerating.

Post-trip, it has become my office outerwear staple. Since it comes in yummy seasonal colours, I asked for another piece as a Christmas gift!

Shokz Openrun Pro 2 Bone Conduction Sports Headphone, $269

I got this as a gift for my husband, and he’s been loving it so far (happy spouse, happy life!). It’s great for outdoor activities like running or cycling, offering a surround-sound-like experience while enabling him to stay aware of his surroundings in case of oncoming traffic and bicycles (safety first!), thanks to bone conduction tech. IYDK, the sound travels as vibrations through your skull bones directly to the inner ear.

It’s lightweight but comfy and snug, and doesn’t slip off when running. It’s also easy to clean: a quick wipe with a soft, dry cloth removes sweat after workouts, and a slightly damp cloth works well for deeper cleaning.

D’Alba White Truffle First Spray Serum, S$71.55

I’m obsessed with how versatile this spray serum has become in my daily routine. It’s a whenever, wherever type of product — you can use this at any step of your skincare, or use it to freshen up your make up.

When my foundation starts looking gross by midday, a few sprays bring back that dewy look. On days when I’m too lazy to put on makeup but want to look put together, I use this on dry areas (mainly my cheeks, avoiding the T-zone) over my tinted sunscreen with a sheer lip gloss. Won’t recommend for those with oily skin in Singapore’s weather though.

Bzu Bzu Kids Head-To-Toe Cleansing Mousse Rich & Creamy 350ml, $15.42

This fun product has made bath/shower time a lot easier because the kids love the foam and it lasts quite a long time. It’s also free of sulfates and parabens, and is gentle on the skin.

You can also get it in larger quantities so you don’t have to keep buying it one by one. Plus it’s a Singaporean brand, so it’s nice to support local (especially when the quality is good)!

Fakhar Lattafa Women Perfume, $32

I love this perfume for its rich, musky, woody base with a soft sweetness that feels truly luxurious. And it’s only $32!

I use it almost daily, with the scent usually lasting around eight to 10 hours, and with its rich musky notes lasting for about the first five hours, before fading to a lighter note. It’s pretty good to me as it doesn’t require many touch-ups. For a night out with the girls, I always add a couple more sprays so it lasts through the evening without the need for reapplication.

MAH 2372 Backpack, $66

best backpack waterproof

Initially, I bought this 15.6-inch backpack for the sole purpose of carrying my huge laptop. To my surprise, it fits so much more. Even with my laptop inside, there is still room for a jacket, charger, umbrella, and water bottle. I started using it as a work bag, but it quickly became my go-to for short overnight trips or days when I need to carry a lot. The interior is surprisingly deep, so nothing ever feels cramped or overstuffed.

I also love that it is waterproof and has anti-theft features, so I don’t have to worry about sudden rain or keeping my belongings safe when I’m out and about. On top of that, the compartments make a big difference. There is one at the front, one at the back, and several inside the bag, so small items like my keys and hand sanitiser are easy to find. There’s also a dedicated laptop and tablet pocket so everything stays neatly organised.

It comes in a range of subtle colours that match easily with my wardrobe, so it doesn’t feel like a purely practical bag. It has become one of those everyday items I reach for whenever I want my hands free. Functional, comfortable, and actually stylish, it works just as well with dresses and skirts as it does with pants. Many people think backpacks ruin skirt or dress outfits, but with this one, that is definitely not the case.

Staycay at Shangri-La Rasa Sentosa

It has taken me so long to discover that I can have an indulgent resort holiday just a 20-minute drive away. The tropical vibes at Shangri-La Rasa Sentosa transported me and my family to another world.

We played beach volleyball at the private beach, kayaked, and spent hours at the sprawling pool and water play areas. While my kids were well taken care of in the kids club, I played pool and table soccer, and had my fill of me-time.

There were so many fun things to do (including a movie screening at the beach), I extended my stay from two nights to three!

Halong Bay overnight cruise

If you’re headed to Hanoi, you’ll want to hop on board a cruise at Halong Bay. While I was initially skeptical about it being a touristy destination, I was glad we booked it. Don’t get me wrong, there are still lots of tourists, but it was worth the trip (do your due diligence on your cruise of choice!) to the Unesco World Heritage site. My 2D1N stay (although it’s really more like 1D1N, given that we had to disembark the next day at around 9am) was an oasis away from the chaos of Hanoi as well as the hectic city life back home.

Not gatekeeping this — I booked the Paradise Legacy Cruise, a new boat that first launched around Oct 2025. It has great amenities and service, and a spacious, comfy room. The food’s generally good, too, with a buffet for lunch, afternoon tea, an elegant sit-down dinner, and breakfast the next morning. WiFi’s quite spotty, but it’s also a great way to disconnect and immerse in the beautiful natural surroundings. Still thinking about the breathtaking views and orange sunset as we slowly cruised past the limestone formations and islets...

Then I Met You Living Cleansing Balm, $63

then i met you cleansing balm best oil balm cleanser
Credit: Sephora

I double cleanse religiously and this has been one of my favourite oil/balm cleansers to use before my regular cleanser. The texture goes on easily and melts into the skin, removing makeup and doing a first cleanse without leaving the skin feeling too dry or stripped. I also like that there is a perfect travel-sized option as well.
