Flooring may often be an oversight, but it is undoubtedly the most important part of any home renovation. In fact, flooring alone can cost as much as a tenth of overall renovations. But where and how do you get started?
In this guide, we’re going to take a look at all the flooring basics, along with the issues you could encounter. And yes, we included the average costing, so you’ll know you’re not getting ripped off. The types of flooring available
Flooring refers to any covering on your floor that’s designed to be permanent. Under the standards of the Building and Construction Authority (BCA), the term flooring includes skirting (the covering at the base of the wall, which covers up the gaps between the flooring material and the wall).
Typical types of flooring include:
