HDB maisonettes are unique for their double-storey configuration, but this can also pose as a problem when approaching the interior design of the spaces. The team from MynMyn Studio proposed a cool and modern look for this home, filled with contemporary elements and a cosy vibe.

Stepping into the entrance foyer of the maisonette, one is greeted by a chic console and a round mirror. Not only does it make for a beautiful entrance, it also helps to lead the eye towards the rest of the spaces on the first floor.

A series of folding glass partitions help to separate the kitchen from the living room when necessary. When left open, the entire first floor of the home becomes one seamless space. The choice of different floor treatments also help to segment the functional space from the more formal living area without breaking the visual flow.

The kitchen area is designed with a contemporary touch, with a combination of closed and open shelving to add variety and flair to the counter area. Even though this is a functional zone, the lighting in the area is kept soothing and inviting, making the kitchen feel more welcoming and convivial.

The team did away with the typical wooden rail for the stairs, and replaced with with a steel support in black finish. The sleek modern touch is softened by the wooden flooring and rows of photos leading up to the second floor.
