Nail Barbiecore Makeup With These "Pinktastic" Products
Here’s how to incorporate this striking shade of pink into your beauty routine
Bright, vibrant and unapologetically pink, the upcoming Barbie film has us falling in love with its hyper-femme Barbiecore aesthetic. We share tips on embracing this beauty trend.
If you’re dipping your toes into pink eye makeup, consider incorporating complementary colours like violet and blue. Here, makeup artist Lasalle Lee showcases how a sweep of baby pink on the lids, violet on the outer corners and crease, and cerulean on the bottom lash line come together to create a look with plenty of depth.

Lasalle used two slightly varying shades of blue – powder blue and navy – to create a soft and hazy eyeshadow. Applying a darker shade of blue on the lash line helps to accentuate and define your peepers.
Finally, a rose-coloured lipstick punctuates the entire look.

Channel ’60s supermodel Twiggy with ultra-thick, spidery lashes. Instead of using multiple coats of mascara to separate the lashes, makeup artist Lasalle suggests pinching tweezers on a few of your lashes to achieve fanned-out, defined individual lashes. To inject a modern spin, top off with a bright tangerine cut crease.

A high-impact blush teamed with a smattering of glitter on the eyes is as fashion-forward as it gets. Apply your blush in a sweeping motion, starting from the apples of your cheeks, and blending upwards towards your temples.

Don’t underestimate the impact of well-placed glitter eyeliner. Apply purple eyeshadow over your lids before lining the inner half of your cut crease and waterline with some sparkle to amp up the drama. Pro tip: Prime your lids with a white eyeshadow to make your peepers appear more vibrant.

Just like Barbie, a dewy glow never goes out of style. To ace your base, Lasalle recommends mixing your liquid foundation with hydrating skincare like a serum or cream. Apply a shimmery eyeshadow to illuminate the eyes and a barely-there gloss to create the illusion of a fuller, juicier pout.
