One of the biggest shows that’s sweeping the Internet right now? Chinese drama Pursuit of Jade, which follows the romance of plucky young pig butcher Fan Changyu (Tian Xiwei) and the Marquis of Wu’an, Xie Zheng (also known as Yan Zheng, played by Zhang Linghe).

If you’ve been sacrificing sleep to power through all 40 episodes — or, like me, randomly repeating “我杀猪养你” (“I’ll butcher pigs to support you”) to my rather bemused spouse — you’re definitely not alone. With a slow-burn romance, heart-fluttering moments, dramatic war scenes, and court politics, it’s easy to see why it’s gotten viewers hooked.

And now, if you’re feeling the void after finishing it, here’s a list of similar C-dramas that will (hopefully) fill that Pursuit of Jade-shaped hole in your heart.

Pursuit of Jade (2026)

In case you haven’t caught Pursuit of Jade and are wondering what the hype is all about, here’s the scoop. The story follows Fan Changyu (Tian Xiwei), a young pig butcher who’s left to fend for herself and her younger sister after losing their parents. As fate would have it, she rescues a wounded stranger in the snow — Xie Zheng, the dashing Marquis of Wu’an — who hides his true identity under the name Yan Zheng (Zhang Linghe).

To help keep her family home, he marries into her family, which leads to a blossoming romance. But as their relationship deepens, they also uncover the truth behind her (and his) parents’ death, and together, and face war and treacherous court politics. Expect a mix of dark drama, emotional highs, a sprinkling of light humour, and plenty of heart-fluttering romantic moments that’ll have you bingeing its 40 episodes.

Pursuit of Jade is available on Netflix and iQiyi.

Veil of Shadows (2026)

Dive into a fantasy world of demons, deities, nine-tailed foxes and double identities with Veil of Shadows. Li Wu Yi (Ju Jingyi) is a young nine-tailed fox who disguises herself as a priest to track down the great demon Xiao Wei, together with her sister Wu Wang Yan. However, others are hunting the demon too, including Wu Shi Guang, a vengeful demon, and Ji Ling, an innocent-looking priest with a mysterious past - all with their own secret motives.

You can look forward to a captivating blend of slow-burn romance, wuxia-style martial arts, and fantasy magic. Plus, lots of elaborate costumes and stunning visuals.

Veil of Shadows is now on Netflix.

Love Beyond The Grave (2026)

With a buzzy, star-studded cast led by Dilraba Dilmurat and Chen Feiyu, this fantasy romance drama is already all over social media. It follows a 400-year-old Spirit Lord, He Simu, and a young mortal general, Duan Xu, whose fates are mysteriously intertwined.

Their chance encounter quickly turns intriguing — Duan Xu may not be who he says he is, while He Simu’s not as untouchable as she seems. Initially guarded against each other, their secrets and hearts slowly unravel.

Love Beyond The Grave is streaming on WeTV Singapore.

Unveil: Jadewind (2026)

Don’t we just love strong female baddies? A mystery crime drama, Unveil: Jadewind follows the stern, determined officer Li Peiyi (Bai Lu) and the meticulous, quick-witted Xiao Huaijin (Wang Xing Yue), deputy director of the Astronomical Bureau, who are ordered to investigate the mysterious and shocking death of the princess Ningyuan.

More eerie palace murders soon follow, each tied to the fates of women in the inner court. As they chase the truth, they also uncover what really happened behind Peiyi’s family massacre fifteen years ago, and the mastermind’s plot.

They go against all odds and bond through hardship, eventually blossoming into a deep, lasting love.

Escape To Your Heart is set to air on WeTV in 2026.

The Road To Glory (2026)

We know you can’t get enough of Zhang Linghe. So here’s another period drama starring the heartthrob: The Road To Glory.

This time, he portrays Xiao Li, a street rogue who rescues deposed princess Wen Yu (Jelly Lin). From there, he rises from scrappy market enforcer to the formidable King of Wei, controlling half the country. As he helps Wen Yu reclaim her throne, the pair develop romantic feelings. But with power comes complications that challenge their relationship.

The Road To Glory is expected to air in late 2026 on WeTV.

Love In The Clouds (2025)

Ming Yi (Lu Yu Xiao) is a female warrior goddess who spent several years disguised as male prince Ming Xian to compete in tournaments. But after getting bested by Ji Bo Zai (Hou Ming Hao), a formerly convicted warrior who defeated her, she discovers she’s been poisoned with an extremely rare poison and goes undercover to build a “fake” relationship with Ji Bo Zai to obtain the antidote.

What follows? A thrilling game of wit, deception, and an unexpected romance.

Love In The Clouds is available on Netflix.

The Prisoner of Beauty (2025)

Xiao Qiao (Song Zuer) and Wei Shao (Liu Yuning) are heirs of rival families who enter a strategic arranged marriage. Wei Shao, the leader of the Wei family, seeks revenge for his family’s death caused by Xiao Qiao’s grandfather fourteen years prior. To stop the fighting and save her family, Xiao Qiao marries Wei Shao, shifting from a target of his wrath to his political ally. Moving from deep suspicion and hatred to love and trust, it allows them to overcome familial and enemy plots.

Blossom (2024)

Love the cinematography and direction of Pursuit of Jade? Then make Blossom your next watch, if you haven’t already. By the same director, Zeng Qing Jie, Blossom follows noblewoman Dou Zhao (Meg Ziyi), who gets a second shot at life and a chance to rewrite her destiny — she’s reborn as her younger self after experiencing a life of betrayal.

She forms an alliance with general Song Mo (Li Yunrui), first disguised as a merchant, and the two uncover court conspiracies and attempt to change their fates.

Psst! The show also stars Kong Xueer, who played Yu Qian Qian in Pursuit of Jade.

Blossom is available on Netflix and Viu.

Guardians of the Dafeng (2024)

We fell in love with Tian Xiwei’s Fan Changyu in Pursuit of Jade, and she appears in another historical drama, starring opposite the also-popular Dylan Wang.

Tian Xiwei plays Princess Lin’an, the overlooked second daughter of Emperor Yuanjin, who yearns for validation within the imperial family. Meanwhile, Dylan Wang takes on the role of Yang Ling, a modern-day office worker who is suddenly thrown into an alternate historical world set during the Dafeng Dynasty.

He wakes up as Xu Qi An, but is trapped in a prison cell and set to be exiled to a remote town in three days. Not only that, a family he barely knows is to be imprisoned, after his second uncle in this new reality, Xu Pingzhi (Yue Yang), is framed for stealing tax money. To save his family, he relies on his knowledge from criminal investigation books and his understanding of mathematics and science to crack the case and save them. He later becomes a Night Guardian who supervises officials and serves the people, cracking down on more bizarre cases with his modern mindset and high EQ.

Guardians of the Dafeng is available on Viu.
