What: Best Red Light Therapy Experience
Where: House Longevity
How: Red Light Therapy (20-minute appointment)
Better-looking skin from simply standing under a red light? That’s part of the appeal behind red light therapy, which uses specific wavelengths of light to support natural cellular processes associated with skin health and recovery.
At House Longevity, a wellness and recovery space in Raffles Place, the Red Light Therapy (RLT) experience takes up to 20 minutes (including registration and changing time) – short enough to work into a packed CBD day.
The session takes place in a private room, where large-format panels provide extensive coverage across the body at once. There’s no massage or hands-on treatment involved; the light exposure itself can take around 10 minutes – five minutes per side.
This fuss-free approach earned House Longevity Best Red Light Therapy Experience in this year’s The Singapore Women’s Weekly Spa & Wellness Awards.
What red light therapy can do
RLT uses red and near-infrared light, with each reaching the body at different depths. At House Longevity, both are delivered simultaneously through full-body panels.
Red light works closer to the skin’s surface, where it may support processes involved in collagen production and skin health. With regular use, this may contribute to healthier-looking skin.
Near-infrared light reaches more deeply into tissue and has been studied for its potential role in exercise recovery. RLT can therefore also complement an active lifestyle, whether used before or after a workout.
Rather than focusing on one area at a time, House Longevity’s large-format panels allow more of the body to be exposed to the light simultaneously. The setup also keeps the session quick: light exposure can take around 10 minutes, with five minutes spent on each side of the body.
What happens during a session
Spa Awards reviewer Esme Berder had her session in a small, private room with full-body red light panels mounted on the wall.
Goggles were provided and no special attire was required. As clothing blocks some of the light, guests can expose as much skin as they feel comfortable within the privacy of the room.
After putting on her goggles, Esme simply stood in front of the panels, turning around midway through so the light could reach both sides of her body. The light exposure takes around 10 minutes in total – five minutes per side. She found it comfortable and fuss-free, although she was surprised by how bright the red light appeared even through the goggles.
Once the session was over, there was no downtime or lengthy post-treatment routine. Esme could get dressed and carry on with her day.
With the entire appointment taking just 20 minutes, and Raffles Place MRT just steps away, she could see herself fitting a session in before work, during lunch or at the end of the day.
Think routine, not quick fix
Esme didn’t notice an immediate visible or physical change after one session, but RLT is better approached as a regular practice.Â
Visible changes to the skin may take time and consistent use. House Longevity suggests around three to five sessions a week initially, depending on individual goals and schedules, while following the recommended session duration.
For Esme, one of the bigger draws was how accessible the experience felt. “This is a centrally located, well-priced option that still feels premium,” she says.
Those with more time can combine RLT with other services. House Longevity also offers hyperbaric oxygen therapy (HBOT), while nearby sister concept Sauna Bath House offers sauna and hot-and-cold immersion experiences.
Each works differently, giving guests the flexibility to choose according to their goals, preferences and available time.
For busy CBD workers, however, RLT’s simplicity may be its biggest draw: a private, contact-free full-body experience under the lights, as quick as 10 minutes, then get dressed and carry on with your day.
