Christmas Wonderland Opens Dec 1 With A New Gingerbread Grove & More

It's that time of the year again — and Christmas Wonderland is back at Gardens by the Bay, and will run from Dec 1, 2023 to Jan 1, 2024.

 Celebrating its 10th edition this year, the festive village will feature a supersized fairground with a spectacular array of light displays, new carnival rides, and more festive activities. It spans over 27,000 sq with a larger fairground comprising three magical zones: Supertree Grove, Frosty’s Fairground at The Meadow, and Gingerbread Grove.

What's new at Christmas Wonderland 2023: Gingerbread Grove

What's new this year: The Gingerbread Grove, where visitors can delight their senses in a sweet experience. This quirky sugary-themed zone is set to be a feast for the eyes with a vibrantly lit Gingerbread House set on a field of illuminated candy canes. It's not just a visual treat - there'll also be dessert stalls to get your sugar fix.

Super Tree Grove: The Spalliera and a Holly Roger Ship

Over at the Supertree Grove, you can expect the main attraction, the Spalliera. This year, the design draws on the Mesola Castle in north Italy’s province of Ferrara, with the magnificent 20-m high handcrafted light display lit by 103,000 bulbs. Of course, Blizzard Time will be making a comeback so you can experience 'snowfall' on our tropical island.

The Garden Rhapsody light and sound show will also charm visitors with the lights on the surrounding Supertrees ‘dancing’ to Christmas classics.

Docking at the Christmas Wonderland is the Holly Roger ship with its crew of merry pirate elves. Illuminated by approximately 127,000 bulbs, don't miss the whimsical new 24m-long light display. Along with the ship, Santa Claus will also be around for photo ops.

Further along, stroll through the kaleidoscopic Walk of Lights. This year’s edition of the Walk of Lights will be its longest ever, with approximately 75,000 programmable LED lights strung across a 65m-long tunnel.

More new captivating light displays can be found at Merry Lane, with installations such as giant snowflakes and Santa’s boot that will make for fun family photo backdrops.

Frosty’s Fairground at The Meadow

Get on board the Christmas Train to head over to Frosty’s Fairground at The Meadow, where visitors can have a go at more carnival games, such as Ring Toss, Fishy Fishy, and Blockbuster. Take a trip down memory lane and hop onto classic amusement rides by Uncle Ringo such as Bumper Cars, Carousel, Flying Dumbo and Hot Air Balloon. More fun awaits at LumiLand, an illuminated playground where there are enchantingly lit seesaws, swings, and LED fixtures for the little ones to enjoy. Visitors can also admire the light displays on the hillsides surrounding The Meadow.

Festive Treats

You can look forward to being spoilt for choice with delicious treats, with twice the number of food outlets this year. Expect popular food and beverage establishments such as Burger & Lobster, Kebabs Faktory, and Sofnade doling out festive fare throughout the event ground.

There are also festive tipples at a whimsical Christmas cracker-themed bar by Hendrick’s Gin and a Brewerkz craft beer bar featuring its festive Gingerbread Amber Lager. Plus, the festive affair will be made all the merrier with performances by local artistes at Elfresco. You can also get your festive shopping done with a wide selection of unique crafts and gift ideas by local entrepreneurs at Mistletoe Alley.  

Ticket Details

Tickets to Christmas Wonderland are available at christmaswonderland.sg and exclusive ticketing partner Trip.com. Tickets are priced from $8 for adults and $6 for children (3 to 12 years old). Separate charges apply for OCBC Skyway, Supertree Observatory, Floral Fantasy and Gardens by the Bay conservatories.

Visitors can choose from four daily sessions starting from 6.30pm, as well as themed nights such as Pets’ Night, where they will be able to soak in the sights and sounds of Christmas Wonderland and enjoy an exclusive programme for their beloved fur kids.
