Disney+ To Launch 50 New Shows In 2023 Including Marvel And Pixar Movies

New shows will include additions from Marvel Studios, Walt Disney Animation, Pixar, and an expanding collection of APAC Originals

Despite being in Singapore for a little more than a year, subscriptions for Walt Disney’s streaming service, Disney+, have been skyrocketing – and it seems like the platform is showing no signs of slowing down. Disney’s streaming services now reach over 235 million subscribers across 154 markets worldwide.

And while there are classics from the list such as the ever-so-popular Avengers movie from the Marvel Cinematic Universe, Monsters Inc from Pixar, and The Mandolorian from Lucasfilm, Disney+ recently unveiled some exciting titles at its long-awaited Disney Content Showcase in Singapore, that is sure to delight viewers of all ages in 2023.

Held at Marina Bay Sands last week, the Disney Content Showcase saw a trove of new content from the streaming service that is set to launch from as early as this December. Gracing the event were stars from the different APAC regions, like South Korea, Indonesia and Japan. Some of these stars included actors and directors such as Pixar’s director/animator/storyboard artist/voice actor Peter Sohn, Japanese actor Mackenyu, Japanese director Miike Takashi, Korean actors Lee Sungkyoung, Kim Youngkwang, Heo Sungtae, Jung Haein, Ko Kyungpyo, Kim Hyejun, and Indonesian talents like Chelsea Islan and Refal Hady, who were all in attendance to promote their new shows that will air on Disney+ in the months to come.

Over the last year, over 45 new APAC titles have been added to Disney’s streaming service, with several shows gaining commercial and critical success. Among the top three most-watched titles in the majority of APAC markets in their premiere week included shows such as Big Mouth, Soundtrack #1 and IN THE SOOP: Friendcation.

Of course, there are a ton of shows that you can look forward to in the coming year. Think – shows from Marvel Studios, Walt Disney Animation Studios, Pixar, Lucasfilm and an expanding collection of APAC Originals for Disney+ and Disney+ Hotstar – you’ll never run out of things to watch.
