Amidst all the joyous happenings of the past week, Carla Dunareanu offers a dose of reality as she commemorates 100 days of postpartum. Shedding light on some of the hurtful comments she received about her body after giving birth, she shared that while they initially affected her, she grew used to them over time.
Particularly empowering is her admission that she thinks her body is at its peak now and that the metric she uses for measurement is no longer appearance-based but rather performance-based. She also reminded mothers like her to take pride in the incredible feat their bodies have performed and urged them to be kinder to themselves.
Mothers out there, be sure to recover at your own pace and do what you need to do to take care of yourself.
