The 'Frozen' Musical Is Coming To Singapore, And Auditions For Children Are On

If you have Frozen-obsessed kids, the good news is that the Broadway musical version of Disney's animated movie Frozen is coming to Singapore, and it'll be the only Southeast Asian country it's making a stop at, which is part of its world tour.

Produced by Disney Theatrical Productions and presented by Base Entertainment Asia (also behind the the Aladdin musical, which was staged here in 2019), it will show at the Sands Theatre at Marina Bay Sands next year from Feb 5, 2023. The hit musical, adapted from the 2013 Disney movie, opened on Broadway in London, in 2018.

You can look forward to a dazzling spectacle, and the production will feature a full score, including 12 new songs from original Academy Award-winning songwriters Kristen Anderson-Lopez and Robert Lopez, which are written especially for the stage.

Those who sign up prior to Sep 29, 2022 at SGT 2359 will receive a 10 per cent discount when ticket sales start on Sep 30, 2022 at SGT 1200. The 10 per cent discount is valid until Oct 9, 2022 at SGT 2359.

But wait there's more.

Young ones who have always dreamt of becoming Elsa or Anna, here's the good news: They're looking for children aged between eight to 11 to play young Anna and young Elsa. Below are the requirements, according to Base Entertainment Asia's registration page:

Young Elsa
Height between 140cm to 142cm

This role can be played by children between the ages of 9 to 11 years old. Bright, poised, elder princess of Arendelle who adores her younger sister. She aims to be a perfect daughter, but wrestles with a dangerous talent.

Young Anna
Height between 125cm to 127cm

This role can be played by children between the ages of 8 to 9 years old. Energetic, free-spirited younger princess of Arendelle who dotes on every word and movement of Elsa. She is heartbroken when she is isolated from Elsa by their parents.

To note: There is no flexibility on height requirements and children will be measured prior to entering the auditions venue. Only children above the age of eight will be considered.
