KidzWorld Has Reopened At The Singapore Zoo & Here's What's New
KidzWorld at The Singapore Zoo has reopened with a larger petting zoo, treehouse-themed playground, a water maze and more
By Michelle Lee SM -
If the kiddos were disappointed that the Rainforest KidzWorld at the Singapore Zoo announced its closure, they'll be thrilled to know that it's now back with exciting new features. Home to over 250 animals, the new KidzWorld has opened at a new location, and is centred around instilling a love in children for nature through meaningful interactions with animals and other nature-based learning experiences.
Spanning one hectare and across two storeys, the new KidzWorld is divided into seven zones. From a bigger petting two to the outdoor tree-housed themed playground and water park, here's what to know.

Many of the animals have been in the former Rainforest KidzWorld have been relocated and now are housed in the Animal Land zone. Get acquainted with falabellas, Pygmy goats, and chickens, and keepers will be on hand to answer questions and share tips on interacting with the adorable animals. Or get hands-on by helping to groom the falabellas or assist the intelligent chickens in daily training routines. There'll be other creatures introduced along the way, including pigs and tortoises.
In place of the Animal Friends presentation at the previous Rainforest KidzWorld amphitheatre, guests can now swing by the 240-seater Animal Buddies to catch short presentations featuring animals such as falabellas, goats and pigs.
Meet furry friends at Little Paws

Head indoors to the Little Paws zone, which houses segregated areas (there's the Canine Clubhouse, Rabbit Patch and Kitty Corner) where little ones can interact with and learn how to care for its furry residents — think dogs, cats and rabbits. Trainers will also be on hand to answer questions and dole out tips. At Canine Clubhouse for instance, you can get tips and tricks on training your own pet dog in a gentle and rewarding way.
Do note that only five to six persons will be allowed inside at any one time, so as not to cause stress to the animals.
Other lesser-seen critters — like the ferret, degu and Gambian pouched rat — which aren't as suited for human interaction, are also housed here in enclosed spaces.

Engage in sensory exploration at two treehouses, one inspired by the natural environment while the other features play elements that mimic sounds of nature. From a slide to a swing and even a sand pit, children will have a ball of a time running around the large space.
Have a splashing good time at Splish Splash

Bring your swimsuits, because you can expect to have a splashing good time at Splish Splash. A major kid favourite, the water park is now back as Splish Splash. In place of the water slides, there's a maze with randomly changing water maze patterns. Selected Ranger Buddies will be able to enter a special code into the C.O.U.R.A.G.E. launch pad and control the maze patterns.
Ranger Buddies Quest and the Ranger Buddies Base Camp

At the centre of KidzWorld is Rangers Buddies Quest, an edutainment programme that seeks to nurture children to become future-ready and responsible global citizens by driving positive change for themselves, others and the world.
Their quest starts at the Ranger Buddies Base Camp, located within KidzWorld. The Base Camp is where smart binoculars can be rented to kickstart the quest, and docked at the various Quest outposts to start playing. The binoculars are seamlessly linked to each child’s profile on the Ranger Buddies Quest app (you'll have to download this), and tracks the progress of the mission. There are currently three outposts, but more will be rolled out progressively.
Within Base Camp, young ones will get to know Kai and Yara, the fictional guardians of the Ranger Buddies universe and explore their hideouts. They can also take part in fun activities like an animated interactive game of picking up trash in the pond, and a digital colouring book.
Base Camp is only accessible with the rental of the smart binoculars. Rental rates per day:
