Remember the buzz and excitement over Jamus Lim a few years ago during the 2020 election, warming the cockles of our hearts? Well, the Singapore political scene has welcomed a new heartthrob this year, with Loo Tze Lui capturing the hearts of many during the swearing-in ceremony of Prime Minister Lawrence Wong in May 2024.
While Loo Tze Lui has not appeared much publicly prior to the ceremony, her occasional appearances have certainly garnered the attention of Singaporeans, with many netizens praising her good looks, elegance and style. She is also known by many as an accomplished banker who has since moved on to managing a single family office. Here are five facts about her.
1. She studied at one of the top business schools in the US

Loo Tze Lui is an alumna of the University of Southern California, graduating in 1993 with a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, specialising in finance. The University of Southern California is a private university in Los Angeles, California, and is known to be one of the best business schools in the United States. Not much else is known about her education history yet.
2. She has a career in finance and investments
According to her LinkedIn profile, Loo Tze Lui currently runs a single family office (SFO). According to a now-removed page from YMCA, she has had a 25-year career in finance and investments. With over 12 years of experience in corporate finance and wealth management, she moved on to an institutional real estate investment fund before joining the SFO. Currently, she manages public market portfolios, direct investments and also oversees real estate assets.
According to sources from the nonprofit organisation Habitat from Humanity, she was also the president of Pacific Star, a Singapore-headquartered property investment company, in 2009.
She appears to be one of the private investors in Razer Inc., as her name appeared in an initial public offering (IPO) draft document.
3. She has practised philanthropy
Loo Tze Lui is also known for her acts of philanthropy in various sectors throughout the years.
It was reported that Loo Tze Lui had been a volunteer at YMCA for more than 10 years, and was appointed vice president from 2022 to 2023, eventually retiring in May this year. As an avid advocate for those in poverty, she took part in Habitat for Humanity’s first-ever Women Build back in 2009. According to a press release by Habitat for Humanity, she was involved in the building process which included mixing and passing buckets of cement, and tying wires on steel bars.
Despite having an extensive career in finance, it seems like Loo Tze Lui is also a firm supporter of the arts scene in Singapore. To date, she has donated between $5,000 and $9,999 to the Singapore Art Museum.
4. She’s friends with entrepreneur Tjin Lee
Loo Tze Lui attended celebrity entrepreneur Tjin Lee’s wedding vow renewal ceremony in Bali in 2018! In a series of photos from the event, Loo Tze Lui sported her signature elegant style while sharing smiles with other guests, which included Dolores Au, co-founder of Mummyfique, and Marilyn Lum, the director of investment company Lum Wen Kay Holdings.
5. She is PM Lawrence Wong’s second wife

PM Wong has largely kept his private life out of the spotlight – little is known about his first wife. In fact, the public only found out about his second marriage after he casually mentioned how his wife, Loo Tze Lui, helped him cut his hair back in 2020 during a Covid-19 press conference.
As of now, we do not know when they got married and how they met. Perhaps more information might be shared in the future.

Even though PM Wong has been involved in the parliament since 2011, a large part of his life is still private and unknown. Hence, it is likely for his wife, Loo Tze Lui to continue keeping a low profile even with the spotlight on her. It is clear that PM Wong keeps a clear distinction between his private and professional life, albeit with some attempts to make himself seem more relatable by showcasing his hobbies on TikTok.
However, as he moves on as the fourth prime minister of the country, it might be time for him to reveal more parts of himself to fellow Singaporeans in order to gain their trust and garner support.
