A clear, luminous complexion paired with barely-there makeup is a trend that will never go out of style.

While makeup can amp up the glow factor, makeup artist Lasalle Lee says the key is focusing on skin prep. For this, plump the skin before applying any makeup with a hydrating face mask.

Don’t underestimate the power of a bubble braid – especially on a busy Monday morning.

It is the simplest way to elevate a regular ponytail. Start with a low ponytail and keep close to the nape. Create a section a couple of inches further down your ponytail and fasten it with a hair tie. Repeat this step another couple of inches down your ponytail until you get to the end.

Here’s how to look polished without overdoing it. Add a swipe of statement-making white eyeliner to make your peepers pop.

For added staying power, layer a cream eyeliner over a pencil formula in the same shade to set your eye makeup.

Makeup for nighttime calls for something more dramatic.

Instead of your usual smokey eye, opt for a head-turning wispy lash look. Achieving spidery, separated lashes can take a little bit of work, but Lasalle has a pro secret: Skip the mascara and decorate each lash line with individual falsies for a subtle take on 60’s fashion icon Twiggy’s signature lashes.

A shimmery eyeshadow isn’t the only way to add a hint of sparkle to your after-dinner drinks look. Incorporating a smattering of face jewels along the lash line can inject a beautiful, unexpected glitz to any dimly lit bar or restaurant.

To keep the rhinestones in place, Lasalle recommends picking up the gems with a crayon pencil, and placing it on top of lash glue.

A high, sleek ponytail is a great party-ready hairstyle if you’re short on time. Add a deep side part for some visual interest.
