Your Body Changes Through The Years – So Should The Way You Care For It
From menstruation to menopause, Golden Chamber’s “pocket wellness” TCM-based remedies are designed to support changing needs at every stage of a woman’s life

As women, there are some things we’ve simply learnt to live with – monthly cramps, feeling drained after childbirth, or changes later in life that get brushed off as “just stress” or “part of getting older”.
For Ms Ping, founder of traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) wellness brand Golden Chamber, her own health challenges prompted her to look at self-care differently.
Eleven years ago, while caring for her ill father, exhaustion and stress took a toll on her health, and she developed a persistent high fever. Steroids helped bring the fever down, but she later experienced swelling and physical weakness. This led her to explore TCM, which became part of her recovery over the next two years.
The experience sparked a bigger question: What if women didn’t have to wait until something felt wrong before they started taking better care of themselves?

That thinking became the basis of Golden Chamber’s “pocket wellness” philosophy. Rather than focusing on individual ailments, it looks at where a woman is in life and what her body may need at that point – making traditional wellness practices easier to fit into modern routines.
After all, what your body needs at 20 may be very different from what it needs after having a baby, or years later as you approach menopause.
“Each chapter of a woman’s life calls for a different kind of support,” says Ms Ping. “That’s why our system has taken us more than a decade to build – we’ve taken the time to formulate, research, test and refine each product carefully, and conduct clinical trials where relevant before bringing them to market.”
How can you better support your body during your period?
For many women, cramps, bloating and low moods are part of the monthly calendar.
“I’ve seen too many women simply endure their periods because they think discomfort is normal and something they just have to live with,” says Ms Ping. “I want to encourage them to pay more attention to what their bodies need, instead of always pushing through and ignoring how they feel.”
From a TCM perspective, this also means recognising that the body’s needs can shift throughout the menstrual cycle.

Professor and chief physician at Beijing University of Chinese Medicine Tang Ling says: “The idea is to regulate qi (energy) before menstruation, protecting blood during menstruation and nourishing blood afterwards”. She also recommends getting sufficient rest and gentler exercise during your period.
Golden Chamber’s Women Period Harmony Capsules bring together ingredients such as astragalus root, traditionally used in TCM to support qi and everyday vitality, and angelica root, which is commonly associated with nourishing blood – a combination that fits naturally into the body’s changing needs around your period.
What does your body need after giving birth?
When baby arrives, it is easy for almost all the attention to shift to the newest member of the family. But the mother has also just been through a major physical transition – and her own recovery matters too.
“After childbirth, the uterus, qi and blood, and the spleen and stomach recover gradually,” says Prof Tang.
Rather than rushing into heavy supplementation or remaining completely inactive for too long, she recommends adjusting diet, rest and activity progressively according to each woman’s constitution, mode of delivery and stage of recovery.
Golden Chamber’s Moon Bliss range follows this gradual approach to postpartum care. Available in convenient powder sachets, the confinement meal boxes include options designed around a 28- to 30-day period of home recuperation, as well as the broader 42-day puerperium.

What changes as you move towards menopause?
As we move into our 40s and 50s, the body begins to ask for a different kind of attention.
Yet changes at this stage of life can sometimes be easy to dismiss.
“Period pain gets endured, ovarian discomfort gets blamed on tiredness, and menopausal hot flushes can be dismissed as bad temper,” says Ms Ping. “I want women to realise that they don’t always have to simply put up with these changes.”

Prof Tang says perimenopause and menopause are associated with a gradual decline in kidney qi, and an imbalance of kidney yin and yang, with the liver and heart also coming into consideration. As a result, it is important to maintain a broader sense of balance, while paying attention to physical and emotional changes.
She advises regular sleep, moderate exercise, such as brisk walking or baduanjin (a traditional Chinese exercise), and having a balanced diet with sufficient calcium and protein.
For women navigating changes such as poor sleep, low energy, feeling cold more easily or a dip in libido, Golden Chamber’s Ovarian and Kidney Treasure Regulating Concentrated Capsules are designed with this stage of life in mind.
The herbal formula features traditional TCM ingredients such as lily bulb, goji berry, black sesame seed and mulberry, which are traditionally associated with nourishing yin and blood, and supporting overall vitality.
What about for days when you feel sluggish or extra tired?
There are long workdays, family responsibilities, caregiving, packed schedules – and those stretches when you simply don’t feel as energetic as usual.
As Prof Tang puts it, long-term health management should be dynamic rather than fixed: care should change as the body changes, while taking diet, movement, sleep and emotional well-being into account.

Golden Chamber’s broader range also includes constitutional and everyday wellness, featuring nourishing ingredients such as ginseng. In fact, the brand also runs its own ginseng cultivation base in Northeast China’s Changbai Mountains, giving it greater oversight of ingredient sourcing and traceability.

Ultimately, Golden Chamber’s full-life-cycle philosophy comes back to one simple idea: learning to notice what your body needs now, rather than automatically telling yourself to power through.
Because your body will keep changing – and the way you care for it can change with it.
