What were Singaporeans most curious about in 2018? Sports and current affairs, according to Google.
The 2018 Fifa World Cup, which was held in Russia, was the top trending search in Singapore this year, ahead of the Malaysia elections and the Australian Open 2018, which came in second and third respectively.
Najib Razak, Malaysia's ousted ex-Prime Minister, made the list alongside the late Stan Lee of Marvel fame. And so did, our favourite new royal, Meghan Markle, who if you didn't know before you must've by now after she married Britain's Prince Harry.
The Trump-Kim summit was a trending search in 2018 as well, as it topped the local news and even spawned a dress for the Miss Universe pageant that was mercilessly mocked online.
The harrowing tale of the Thai Cave boys riveted Singaporeans who kept up with the story of their eventual rescue. Some movies also made the top ten, including Black Panther (which seems like it came out a lifetime ago now!) and Avengers: Infinity War.
