If you don't mind braving the outdoors, the third-floor Roof Garden of Marina Square to catch the racers speeding down Raffles Avenue (Turn 15 to 16) and gunning for the finish line. There's also the level two exit near Pororo Park which overlooks the Esplanade portion of the track.
The mall itself has a Junior Rev ‘N’ Race circuit for young speedsters looking for their own race experience.
This one's also outdoors so you're opening yourself up to be bait for the surrounding bugs, heat and humidity but it is still possible to watch the F1 race for free from this public bridge with a great vantage view of turns 18 to 21. Tip: Get there early to "chope" a good spot and be prepared to get squished by the crowds.
We know you're thinking there's no way you can watch the F1 race for free from a library but go to the 12th floor and we'll prove you wrong. There's a huge window on the left with a view of Suntec City and Marina Bay, where you'll be able to catch the cars zooming down Esplanade Bridge and onto Raffles Avenue. Just remember to keep your excited shrieks down — it's a library after all!
The open-air rooftop overlooking the Padang (where many F1 activities will take place) is sure to be a viewing hotspot. Plus, if you're feeling peckish or thirsty, there are lots of food and beverage options around like rooftop bar Smoke and Mirrors, and National Kitchen by Violet Oon.
The overhead link bridge between Millenia Walk and Marina Square offers a prime vantage point for turn 6, while the mall itself offers unbeatable front-row views of turn 6 and 7 (along Raffles Boulevard). Snap away, and when you're done, head inside to cool down and do a bit of eating and shopping.
And last but not least...the best place to watch the race is in the comfort of your own home! It's a wallet-friendly option for even the most frugal of us. Just sit back, relax and turn on your TV for live coverage of the F1 race for free. Bonus points for all the snacks you'll be able to have on hand and easy access to bathroom facilities.
