Nursery Tours To 1-On-1 Trips With Kids: What Celebs Did
And a cute case of mistaken stranger anxiety
By Michelle Lee SM -
We got into a peek of what celebrity mums' Liv Lo and Ase Wang's dreamy nurseries look like, while Sgag's Xiaoming proudly announced his kid Zachary's latest milestone. Meanwhile, Annette Lee shared a hilarious incident with her son Wes. Outside of our little red dot, Tay Kewei and Alfred indulged in some bonding time with their youngest during a trip to Vietnam.
It's normal for babies to start crying when they're carried by strangers, but in Annette Lee's case, her baby started crying the moment she carried him. The 31-year-old was dressed up as a character for her skit, and her son Wes promptly burst into tears when her husband handed him over to her, likely because he couldn't recognise her in the get-up.
Just as she's about to pop any time now, Liv Lo has given us a tour of the nursery for her second child. The dreamy space is decked in hues of off-white and light sandy accents.
What was most important for her: a comfy recliner for her to (in Liv's words) "live, feed the baby and we fall asleep".
She also has a tip for mums looking to decorate their nursery — pay attention to the dresser you choose. "The last time, I only chose three drawers and it wasn't enough." We can only imagine new mums will need all the storage space they can get.
One of the most exciting milestones for many parents is when their child starts walking on their own. Sgag's Xiao Ming's 13-month-old son Zachary, after trying for weeks, took adorable first steps in his cot while looking very pleased with himself.
And as actress Sheila Sim succinctly described in the comments, "How is that a walk? He danced like a pro. So subtly but beautifully."
While Liv Lo was creating her nursery, Ase Wang was turning her existing one into a toddler room, now that her daughter Kaya Harper has outgrown her nursery. In place of her cot, is a custom-sized bed with sheer bed curtains, as well as large plush toy animals to keep her company.
Fann Wong, Christopher Lee and their son Zed were down at the popular annual MOE Mother Tongue Languages Symposium 2023, where Fann was invited as a guest speaker, one of 19 during the event. And from the looks of it, Christopher and Zed chimed in, too.
The free event, held at the Suntec City Convention Centre this year, encourages childrens' love for their Mother Tongue languages through fun hands-on and interactive activities in Chinese, Malay, and Tamil.
Want to encourage your kids' proficiency in their Mother Tongue? A tip from Fann is to let kids children pick up their Mother Tongue Language in “a natural environment", such as conversing in the language as much as possible at home. (Source: The Straits Times)
With her elder daughter Layla's third birthday coming up, Sheila Sim asked if she would like to receive a gift or contribute to someone in need via a donation. According to Sheila, the little girl opted to donate, even without really knowing what it meant.
After an explanation, she eventually opted to raise funds for others. There's absolutely nothing wrong with choosing a gift for herself, but it's a heartwarming gesture to skip it for a donation that helps others instead. Bravo Layla!
Sheila has also opened a fundraising campaign on Giving.sg, with the proceeds going to the Make A Wish Foundation (Singapore). You can donate here or through the link on her Instagram page.
Tay Kewei and Alfred Sim took their youngest child Qiuqiu on a short one-on-one trip without his brothers to Hyatt Regency Da Nang Resort & Spa in Vietnam. Traveling with one kid at a time can offer a wonderful opportunity to strengthen connections and provide room for exploring their individual interests. For those with multiple children, what are your thoughts on trips like these?
Like the rest of the country, the celebrity family headed out together to vote for Presidential Election that happened on Sep 1. Of course, the occasion called for a family selfie with their poll cards!
