In 2003, MAJ Sylvia made history in Singapore’s military aviation when she became the RSAF’s first female Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV) pilot. As the UAV Chief Instructor in Air Force Training Command, she trains stringently selected officer cadets to become UAV pilots for operational squadrons. “Operational pilots must always be ready to execute RSAF missions 24/7 and achieve mission success when called upon,” emphasises Major Koh, who hones her skills and maintains proficiency as an operational UAV pilot by flying the Heron 1 UAV.
