Finnish design house Marimekko has opened the doors to its first lifestyle concept store in Singapore at Orchard. Decked in the vibrant decor that is synonymous with its brand, it's segregated into a retail area as well as a cafe.

Shop its F/W 2023 apparel and accessories collection, which stars architecture-inspired prints as well as the brand's archetype silhouettes. Or shop its whimsical range of home decor that runs the gamut from tableware to towels and robes. Of course, its iconic poppy print can be found splashed across all its merchandise, too.

Fuel up at the 26-seater cafe, also draped in serve ware and linen featuring its iconic prints and patterns. Here, you can tuck into pastries, cakes, and soft serve, as well as a selection of hot and cold beverage options.

Marimekko is at #B1-12, Ion Orchard, Singapore 238801.

Tipsy Unicorn at Sentosa

From dazzling to vividly coloured decor all in hues of neon pink and purple, Tipsy Unicorn Beach Club is Sentosa's newest party venue that's set to be an oasis of fun and unbridled merriment. Set on Siloso Beach, the venue spans 19,000 sq ft across three stories, including 5,000 sq ft of outdoor space, and offers seating options that run from indoor seats to cabanas and even private suites.

The earthy and creamy Sunchoke Soup ($14++) with just a bit of punch from curry oil and fluffy rainbow-hued croutons is a good way to start your meal, as well as the zesty Hamachi Ceviche ($21++), which sits in spicy Thai green sauce that's tempered by lashings of coconut cream. There's also the petite Spiced Lentil Tarts ($18++) that make for delightful snacks with a moreish mix of beans, and creamy stracciatella.

The tender Wok Fired Beef Cubes ($24++) are addictive, and perfect with just a sprinkling of sea salt, but also served with a truffle marmite veal jus for extra umami.

For mains, go for the Seafood Paella ($42++), loaded with baked firefly squid, clams, mussels and scallops atop fluffy, flavoursome rice. Another carb-heavy option is the signature XO Fried Carrot Cake ($16++). While it lacked the wok hei we love from the classic dish, the addition of garlic crumbs, sakura ebi and tobiko, as well as housemade sambal belachan on the side added texture and punch.

For a visually appealing treat to end your meal, order the signature Mystical Unihorn ($18++) — an edible paper cone is lit up to reveal the colourful glittery unicorn horn-shaped treat of hazelnut mousse within.

Tipsy Unicorn Beach Club is at 36 Siloso Beach Walk, #01-01, Sentosa Island, Singapore 099007. Visit its website for more information.
