If you’re looking for an all-rounder supermarket to do your weekly grocery trips, this is it, although items may seem a little pricier. They also sell ready-made sushi platters and bento boxes for fast meals.

Meidi-Ya Supermarket has two outlets: #B1-50 Liang Court Shopping Centre; and #B2-120 Great World City.

This Japanese discount store that sells basically anything and everything, also sells an incredible, albeit slightly dizzying, array of groceries too. You can find all sorts of Japanese goods here, from fresh to frozen and everything inbetween, and they even serve up piping hot baked sweet potato in case you have the munchies while grocery-shopping. Fair warning though: The background jingle that’s played 24/7 can get stuck in your head.

Don Don Donki has four outlets: #B1-01 to B1-85 Square 2 Novena; B2 City Square Mall; Level 2 and 3 at 100AM; B1 and B2 at Orchard Central.

This Japanese restaurant and marketplace serves up a dose of authenticity in terms of food and produce available. All items are flown directly from Japan and the best part? It’s the only marketplace that sells Halal Japanese goodies and snacks.

At Kuriya, seafood gets flown in thrice weekly from Japan and is sold immediately. Besides fresh produce, ready-made sushi party platters, snacks and drinks are also available. This Japanese specialty store is a haven for lovers of Japanese confectionery, bottled drinks, cup noodles, you name it. Here you can find genuine food items that aren’t in your typical convenience store, such as the new Instant Mash Potato from Calbee. Perfect for stocking up on goodies for your guests or to bring to a picnic or house party!

Iroha Mart has two outlets: #B2-16/17 Plaza Singapura; and #B1-11 Chinatown Point.
