Parents, it's finally the week of Christmas! If you're using your annual leaves to spend time with the kids (and enjoy the celebrations), you're in luck. This week is full of family-friendly activities you won't want to miss out on.
We've put together a list of various activities ranging from free festive storytelling sessions and craft activities to plays and bouncy castles. And if you don't celebrate Christmas, don't worry: we found fun things to do on the 25th too! Keep reading to find out more.
All budding detectives will enjoy this day out. The Malay Heritage Centre is a historical landmark, which means it is the perfect place for a scavenger hunt. This drop-in activity is perfect for families with kids who love to work out clues and figure out codes. While uncovering the hidden treasures, you will also stand a chance to win fun prizes!
To get started, all you have to do is drop by the Visitor Services Centre to pick up your booklets and begin your quest.

Let's get crafty with printable craft templates
Need some craft activities that you and your kids can do at home? Asian Civilisations Museum has printable templates for finger puppets that resemble mythical birds. They're inspired by a headdress found in the Jewellery Gallery. All you need to have on hand are colour pencils, scissors, and glue or sticky tape. Encourage your child to colour in whichever way they want. After, have some fun playing together with your creations.

Scented stones are hard rocks infused with scents, which means they can be placed anywhere in the house to freshen the air. This workshop shows you and your kids how to turn stones into scented Christmas ornaments that you can hang on your tree or even your doorknob. Personalise them with your kids and have fun letting your creative juices flow.
All materials are provided and the workshops are suitable for all ages of kids - different craft techniques will be taught to different ages of children, so you don't have to worry about whether they can keep up! At the end of the day, each person gets bring home two scented stones to spruce up every part of the house.

If your family is full of Pokémon fans, then it's time to rejoice! This year, GRIT eSports Christmas Day Camp 2021 gives parents and kids the chance to finally become top Pokémon trainers. Team up with your little ones in a Pokémon Unite Mini Tournament and go on an exciting scavenger hunt together.
As well as a fun way to spend time together, this camp is a great opportunity to get a good whole-body workout as you run around, which is always a plus. And that's not all: there are also prizes to win, so if your children have competitive streaks, it's time for them to shine.

This charming exhibition makes a nice pitstop if you are taking your kids to the Esplanade. Sender of Wishes is a new visual arts display that features toys and animated structures made from brightly painted wood.
The theme is quite "cheem" (or deep), so it may even spark some 'teachable moment' chats with your little ones. The wooden centre inside each figure is the artist's way of saying that each of us has a strong centre of hope, even in these trying times.

Even in the age of video games, kids still love a good old-fashioned story-telling session. At this Christmas Storytime session, performers will share heartwarming stories for kids and perform classic Christmas songs for kids. Be ready to sway side by side to festive music with your kids during the singalong session.
The activity is best suited for four to six years olds. Adults can accompany up to three children.

This interactive dance performance makes you part of the performance. Take a seat with your kids and make use of the musical instruments provided to create sounds. The performers pick up on them, as well as actions you and the children may make - and dance along. As well as creating the soundtrack for the dance, the audience takes over the story and decide how it should continue.
While the dance choreography is rooted in Malay culture, it's interactive fun for all ages and all races, so get ready to have a noisy and fun time with the little ones.

Are your little ones still obsessed with Baby Shark? Well, they can now meet Baby Shark, Pinkfong, Hogi, and other friends live at a concert. Follow the characters as they go around solving fun riddles as they search for treasure.
Kids also get to sing along as the characters explore the deep blue sea under the surface and check out a shipwreck... which seems to have more to it than meets the eye?

If you don't celebrate Christmas, it can be a boring day for kids. But we've found two unique and fun workshops suitable for kids aged seven and above.
In the Batik Indigo workshop, you and your kids get to create your own indigo batik through a guided session tailored for beginners. What's really special is that you learn to use the tjanting to apply wax - this a Javanese pen instrument is used to apply hot wax in batik work. You also get to try out basic dye techniques.
Or kids can try the Copper Tooling workshop, where you and your kids will be able to create your own unique designs using copper-etching tools. You don't need any artistic training, because you'll be taught how to handle the tools. Just let your imagination run free!
