It isn't an understatement when people say that it takes a village to raise a child. As more families take on a dual-income profile where both parents go out to work, many folks have to depend on external help to take care of the children whenever they fall sick and miss out on school, or when mummy and daddy just want a romantic date night to reconnect as a couple.

If you are lucky, your parents or relatives might live near enough (and are available) to pitch in when such occasions arise. In the past, it might have been easier to find nannies who live in the same HDB estate too. Now, if you don't have either of these options, the search for help has been simplified, thanks to technologies and companies that have been specifically created to fulfil such a need.

Since 1 December 2024, ECDA has also rolled out a childminding pilot catering affordable and reliable childminding services for Singaporean citizens in their infancy. To help facilitate this three-year pilot programme, three operators – EduNanny by Butler, Kidibliss, and NannyPro Care – have been tasked with sourcing and training the requisite childminders. You may contact any of these operators to enjoy highly-subsidised five-hour or 10-hour childminding services under the pilot if your baby is between two and 18 months old. Subsidised rates start from $16.50 for a five-hour block, and you can expect to pay $719.40 per month for full-day, five-days-a-week childminding.

Whether you need a full-time, part-time or ad-hoc babysitter, keep scrolling as we share with you 15 babysitting services in Singapore.
