When it comes to family bonding time, most parents will choose to spend a day at a kid-friendly playground or have a picnic at the beach. But if you’re looking to switch up your routine, a unique thing to do with the kiddos is to sign up for a kid-friendly workshop.

Whether it’s for your next free weekend or the December holidays, it’s time to get crafty and let those creative juices flow at these kid-friendly workshops in Singapore.

1. Crochet classes at Tiny Rabbit Hole

Let the kids try their hands at crocheting at Tiny Rabbit Hole’s taster classes that are suitable for the young ones. There are 3 options for you to choose from: the Lollipop Workshop ($40), Meow Meow Trinket Dish Workshop ($60), and Meow Meow Pouch Workshop ($100).

The Lollipop Taster Workshop is a 1.5-hour class suitable for kids above 7. They’ll learn the basics of how items are made using crochet, perfect for beginners. All classes are held at the studio at Everton Park.

2. Paper Shoot Camera workshop

If you’ve got tiny budding photographers on your hands, then the Paper Shoot Camera workshop might just be for you. Instead of just snapping photos on an ordinary camera, you and the kids can create a unique one for yourselves.

Join in a Custom Camera Workshop ($210), a 2-hour guided workshop complete with all the art supplies you need. The best part is that you get to keep the camera that you made, and continue making memories with the fam long after the workshop. The workshop is also pet-friendly, so feel free to bring your furry pals.

What’s better than buying an adorable rug for your kids’ playroom? Making one with them, of course. Grab your tufting guns and needles and get busy at Every Tuft’s Rug Tufting Workshop.

Tufting classes start from $90/person, but you can try the tufting jamming sessions at only $30/hour. If your children are younger than 10, then go for the Tiny Tufties workshop ($100 for one child and adult). Instead of tufting guns, you’ll make your small rugs with 2 punch needle sets instead - one for kids and one for the adults. There are over 35 yarn colours for selection, and the instructors will be guiding and teaching the parent-kid duo on how to start and finish their small rugs.

At the 3-hour Table Lamp Workshop ($198), you get to fabricate your very own table lamp from scratch, with your own choice of fabric from Naturalis Historia’s library. Do note that this course only covers the fabrication of a plain lampshade covered in fabric, and does not include embellishing your lampshade with trim.
