Is The Maxi Skirt Replacing The Micro-Mini Trend Already?

The micro mini skirt trend has definitely had its moment since its return last year (read: Miu Miu). But this time ‘round, it seems that fashion has set its sights on something a little more modest for the Spring/Summer 2023 season. Enter maxi skirts. 

The resurgence of the maxi skirt has started to pick up over the last few weeks and we’ve seen a lot more people opting for longer silhouettes that come in different iterations – from denim to silk, you name it. But what’s interesting is that many are also pairing their long maxi skirts with midriff-baring tops or fitted tanks that work to accentuate their figure – making the maxi skirt the focal point of their outfits. 

It’s practical, chic and it’s obviously a lot more work-friendly than the former trend. And while the micro-minis might still be trending at the moment as well, we can definitely see that the maxi skirt trend will be a hit amongst those who prefer chic, form-fitting styles that are made to flatter anybody and everybody.
