Reality show auditions are probably one of the most addictive things to watch on the internet. There are hilarious ones, entertaining ones and of course, the ones that make you cry. There’s just something about the sad music, a touching story and an amazing talent that pulls at our heart-strings.
So if you don’t mind getting stuck in the endless loop of tear-jerker audition tapes, here are 10 of the most touching reality show auditions that will leave you cheering, crying and clapping:

1. Kodi Lee
The audience and judges at the America’s Got Talent’s 2019 auditions were in for a huge treat recently when a 22-year-old autistic and blind man walked onto the stage with his mother, Tina Lee.
While introducing him, Tina said, "Through music and performing he was able to withstand living in this world. When you're autistic, it's really hard to do what everybody else does. It actually has saved his life, playing music."
Kodi then sat at the piano and proceeded to perform the soulful and powerful number “A Song For You”.
His heartfelt performance had the judges and the entire audience on their feet, cheering and in tears. In fact, the judges were so moved that at the first chance she got, first-time AGT judge Gabrielle Union slammed the golden buzzer, sending him straight to the live shows.
We can't wait to hear more from this incredibly inspiring individual.
2. Calysta Bevier
19-year-old Calysta Bevier performed in season 11 of AGT when she was just 16.
She opened her performance by talking about her fight with Ovarian cancer. The singer was diagnosed with the dangerous disease at 15 and underwent chemotherapy. As a result of that, she lost most of her hair.
When she thankfully went into remission after 21 chemotherapy treatments, the music lover felt the need to do more with her life. She wanted to inspire more people to chase their dreams.
For the audition, Calysta sang a rendition of Rachel Platten's "Fight Song”. Her beautiful voice and inspiring story had the audience and judges on their feet.
In fact, Simon Cowell himself was so moved by the performance that he pressed his golden buzzer and sent her straight to the live shows.

3. V Unbeatable
V Unbeatable is a dance group which took AGT by storm in May this year.
The group, which is made up of 28 dancers between the ages of 12 to 27, hail from Mumbai, India. Most of the members of the group reside in slums which are dirty, cramped and have limited access to electricity and water.
When introducing their performance, the group’s leader choked up as he told the judges about how difficult it was living in the slums and how important this opportunity was to them, saying:
“Many of the members of our group live in slums. The slums are very crowded, very dirty, and they don’t get proper electricity. Often seven to 10 people are staying in one room. It is very challenging to survive over there. Each day we pray for a better life, but in the slums there is very little opportunity for us. When we dance we forget all the tensions in our mind, and we feel free.”
When the group began their performance, the judges and the audience were immediately shocked as they watched the group throwing each other in the air fearlessly, tiptoeing across bamboo poles and performing incredible stunts.
At the end of their routine, the audience and the judges gave them a standing ovation, saying they had just seen history in the making. As you can imagine, the group got a resounding yes from all four judges and progressed to the next round of the competition.
4. Christian Burrows
You haven’t seen an emotional audition video till you’ve watched Christian Burrows sing a heartfelt song he penned for his baby brother to a row of awe struck and crying judges on The X Factor UK in 2016.
When Christian’s younger brother, Nathan, was only a few months old, he passed away due to Sudden Infant Death Syndrome. Christian did not really get a chance to know his brother so the song he penned talked about all the missed opportunities and how he wished he could have grown up with him.
During the song, the judges were mesmerised and some even shed a few tears. While Christian made it till the Judges Houses round, he was unfortunately eliminated before the live shows.

5. J-Sol
In 2018, J-Sol stepped onto the X-Factor UK stage and left everyone around him floored and in tears. Before starting his performance, J-Sol talked about how his mother, who was his biggest fan, died suddenly in 2015.
While she was alive, he used to argue with his mother about going on The X-Factor. His mum felt that he was capable but he did not. Now, J-Sol says that he wants to audition so that he can fulfill one of her greatest requests.
J-Sol wrote and performed his own song, “Bullet In My Heart”. The judges were so moved that they gave him a standing ovation. In fact, judge and ex-One Direction member Louis Tomlinson, who lost his own mother recently, got up on stage to hug the singer.
6. Josh Daniel
In 2015, Josh Daniel came onto The X-Factor UK with a moving rendition of Labyrinth’s “Jealous”. Before he started singing. Josh spoke passionately about his best friend who died tragically when he was only 18.
Josh talked about how the lyrics of the song meant something special to him before proceeding to belt the song out. The 21-year-old even managed to make Simon Cowell cry with his performance!
In a separate interview, Simon mentioned that he was thinking of his late mother during the performance and that was what prompted the tears.

7. Rion Paige
In 2013, a bubbly 13-year-old with a rare condition called arthrogryposis multiplex congenita walked onto the X-Factor stage. Her name was Rion Paige and her hands were tragically fixed in a bent position due to her condition.
On the show, Rion sang a soulful rendition of Carrie Underwood’s “Blown Away” to the delight of her audience. She eventually got four yeses and progressed through the competition with Demi Lovato as her mentor. However, Rion was eventually eliminated, coming in 5th place on the show.
8. Dalton Harris
Dalton Harris is a Jamaican singer who won the fifteenth series of The X-Factor UK. However, you might not know that he also had one of the most inspiring and heartbreaking auditions of the season.
Dalton grew up in poverty in his home in Jamaica with his 22 brothers and sisters. He told judges that his house had only one room and was without electricity or running water. However, he emphasised that his story was not a sad one but rather one that just was.
Dalton went on to sing Elton John’s “Sorry Seems To Be The Hardest Word” and stunned the judges into giving him four yeses. The rest is history.

9. Anna Clendening
Anna Clendening is a 20 year old girl who auditioned in season 9 of America’s Got Talent. Anna, who is unemployed, was led on stage with support from Nick Cannon, the host.
When asked why she was unemployed, Anna spoke about how she was diagnosed with an anxiety and depression disorder when she was just 14. It was an uphill climb from there with the singer even being bedridden just a couple of months before the audition.
When Anna started singing her rendition of Jeff Buckley’s “Hallelujah”, the judges were instantly moved. In fact, Howie Mandel even walked up on stage to give her a hug for her bravery after the performance. She's certainly an inspiration to anyone struggling with mental illness.
10. Ashly Williams
When she was just 14, Ashly Williams received the devastating news that her mother has been murdered.
At 24, she decided to perform a rendition of Dolly Parton’s “I Will Always Love You” in honour of her mother on The X-Factor .
Her voice, which was controlled and soulful, completely impressed the judges who could not stop smiling and who gave her a standing ovation.
