Lee Gwan-hee & Yoo Si-Eun Are Dating! Single’s Inferno Contestants Who Dated After The Show

Ever since its first season aired in 2021, Netflix’s dating show Single’s Inferno has had us swooning, shaking our heads at questionable decisions, and our eyes glued to the screen with all the drama. One of South Korea’s longest-running reality dating shows, spanning five seasons, it has been confirmed for Season 6, which is expected to drop in 2027.

The premise of the show centres around a group of hot singles thrown on an island to mingle, all without revealing their ages and jobs. Those who match up during their time there get to go on dates in Paradise (a fancy hotel), and they ultimately get to choose someone to leave the island with — that’s if the other person chooses them too.

But while the romance was sizzling during their time on Inferno, not all of them made it off the island with a match. Curious about which contestants got together after the show concluded? We find out.

Lee Gwan-hee and Yoo Si-eun (Season 3)

Plot twist. Yoo Si-eun and Lee Gwan-hee are an item, and we totally did not see this coming.

The pair hard-launched their relationship news with an Instagram post on Jul 29, showing the two on what looks to be a date. This comes as a surprise to many as they were never romantically linked on the show, which aired in 2024. After navigating a love triangle involving three women, Gwan-hee ultimately left Single’s Inferno with Choi Hye-seon. Meanwhile, Yoo Si-eun walked hand-in-hand off the island with Choi Min-woo. However, they did not date romantically afterward.

In her announcement, Si-eun wrote, “Over the past several months, we’ve been quietly getting to know each other while surrounded by the warm support and encouragement of so many people. Now, we’d like to share our heartfelt news with all of you directly.”

“Moving forward, we’ll continue to cherish and support each other as we grow our relationship together.”

It isn’t just us who have been caught off guard. S4 contestant Kim Hye-jin (@07_27___) left a comment in Korean, saying “What?!?”, while Physical: Asia star Amotti simply wrote, “Omg.”

Even Gwan-hee’s former on-screen match, Hye-seon (@hazelchoiii), joined in on the buzz with a teasing comment (or so we think) in Korean: “Am I supposed to congratulate you?”

Park Hee-sun and Lim Su-been (Season 5)

One of the longest slow-burn romances in Single’s Inferno Season 5, Su-been was initially interested in Choi Mina Sue, while Hee-sun developed feelings for him almost instantly. For much of the show, Su-been struggled between the two women, leaving Hee-sun feeling confused and dejected.

Later on, as they got to know each other more, the two got closer, and ultimately left Inferno together.

During the Single’s Inferno reunion, which aired six months after filming, the couple revealed they had gone on five dates in the month before Hee-sun returned to the United States for university. They admitted that the long-distance relationship wasn’t always easy — Su-been even stopped replying for a few days at one point because he was unsure how to handle the distance. However, he eventually reached out again after realising he didn’t want to lose her, and the pair continued dating long-distance. Awww.

Lee Joo-young and Kim Jae-jin (Season 5)

Joo-young and Jae-jin’s calm, steady relationship and chemistry made them fan favourites.

At the Single’s Inferno reunion, they revealed they had continued seeing each other and had been on several dates. Neither was in a rush to define the relationship, but their chemistry was palpable. The rest of the cast certainly seemed convinced, teasing them like they were already an established couple.

Since then, the pair have kept things pretty low-key, but fans have picked up on plenty of clues that they’re still going strong. Joo-young has shared that Jae-jin regularly shows up to support her art exhibitions, while she’s been spotted cheering him on at his contemporary dance performances.

Their sizzling onscreen chemistry (remember the scene of them cuddling under the sheets?!) made them one of Season 4’s most talked-about endgame couples. However, Koreaboo reported that during an appearance on variety show The Manager, Jun-seo revealed that they’re no longer together, adding that their relationship felt more like that of a ‘brother and sister’.

Choi Seo-eun and Jo Yoong-jae (Season 2)

One of the most stable couples in Season 2, Seo-eun and Yoong-jae continued their relationship off-screen, even holding fan meets. However, the two faced backlash for initially holding it as a ticketed event, with online criticism that they were not considered actual public figures, and subsequently changed it to one that’s free of charge. 

Lee So-e and Kim Sejun (Season 2)

Fans (ourselves included) were thrilled when So-e finally found her match in game-changer Se-jun after spending most of the season pining for Yoong-jae.

After the show wrapped, So-e revealed that the two had stayed in touch, even sharing photos of herself visiting the menswear store where Se-jun worked, giving fans hope that their romance was continuing off-screen.

Sadly, it wasn’t meant to be. The pair later went their separate ways, with reports suggesting Se-jun ultimately saw So-e more as a younger sister than a romantic partner.

Kang So-yeon and Oh Jin-taek (Season 1)

Kang So-yeon and Oh Jin-taek connected instantly in Season 1, with Jin-taek drawn to So-yeon’s confident personality and straightforward charm. When he also showed interest in Shin Ji-yeon, it left So-yeon questioning if he was genuinely interested in her or just enjoying the attention. However, they later opened up about their feelings and built a deeper connection, especially after their first Paradise date.

After the show concluded, the pair continued interacting on social media, fuelling speculation that they were still together. They were also spotted wearing matching items and appearing in similar locations, sparking dating rumours.

Although So-yeon and Jin-taek never officially confirmed that they were a couple, their continued closeness kept fans speculating that there was something more between them.

However, any chance of a real-life romance appeared to be short-lived, as Jin-taek was later reported in Jan 2023 to be dating PR agent Lily Baek.
