10 Cheese Shops In Singapore For Artisanal Cheeses From Around The World
For your next cheese and charcuterie party
By guoxiongho -
Milk and cream are already delicious in their own right. But once they have been cured and fermented into cheese, a new world of flavours opens up. Think about soft, creamy brie and camembert, the salty twang of cheddar and parmesan, or the umami funk of blue cheeses like Roquefort and Stilton. Ahead, we spotlight 10 cheese shops in Singapore that celebrate and showcase the diverse flavours and varieties of cheese.
1. The Cheese Ark
In the early 2000s, Ai Ming Syu left her cushy job to work in a small, family-run family in Italy that produced traditional cheeses. It was then that she fell in love with the diverse taste of cheese outside of the large-scale, factory-made products. She later returned to Singapore and set up The Cheese Ark in 2013, an establishment with the sole intention of celebrating cheeses made by small, artisanal farmstead cheesemakers. The selection here changes from season to season and is aged in-house for greater flavour. Check out its Instagram for what's new and available.
The Cheese Ark is at 49 Stirling Rd, #01-489, Singapore 141049. Visit its website for more information.
2. The Cheese Shop
The Cheese Shop specialises in fine cheese, wines, and food sourced from Europe and other parts of the world. Besides its online store, there are three locations you can physically pick up cheese from — Joo Chiat Road in the East, Tagore Lane in the North, and UE Square in the central area. Here, the range spans from hard cheeses like Applewood Smoked Cheddar from England to blue cheeses like Roquefort Janier from France. The picture above, for example, features The Cheese Shop's bestselling truffle-infused cheeses.
The Cheese Shop has multiple locations in Singapore. Visit its website for more information.
3. The Cheese Deli
The Cheese Deli is a family-run operation united by its love for cheese. It brings in artisanal cheeses made by smaller, traditional farmers and uses eco-friendly packaging to reduce its carbon footprint further. Apart from the Charcuterie Board and Cheese Platter options, some popular items here are the Manchego with Black Garlic, Brie de Meaux, and Tête de Moine Gold, a raw milk hard cheese from Switzerland.
The Cheese Deli is at 55 Upper E Coast Rd, Singapore 455215. Visit its website for more information.
4. The Cheese Artisans
The Cheese Artisans was started in 2012 as a cheese supplier to hotels and restaurants. In 2016, the brand opened its first concept store in Bukit Timah, now located in One-North. The Cheese Artisans continue to import artisanal cheese made by traditional European farms that produce dairy products using time-honoured methods. Popular cheese on its website include Allgäuer Emmentaler AOP, Barber's Vintage Cheddar, and Beaufort Été AOP 10 Months.

5. Cheeselads
Cheeselads is the brainchild of Alfred Low and couple Leonard Teng and Chloe Lee. The millennial trio started the cheeseboard business in 2020 right as the nation went into the Circuit Breaker lockdown. Now, the brand retails over 170 types of cheese from across Europe and the USA, which you can purchase to enjoy at home or at their restaurant in Jalan Besar. One unique cheese found here that caught our eye is the goat cheese Apolline, which comes with a rind of edible flowers and a rose jelly centre.
Cheeselads is at 117 Tyrwhitt Road, Singapore 207546. Visit its website for more information.
6. Gourmet Shop
Founded by French chef Julien Bompard and his wife Edith Lai, Gourmet Shop's previous iterations were the now-defunct Le Saint Julien Restaurant, which ran between 2003 and 2013, and the La Fromagerie cheese retail shop. The specialty cheeses retailing at the Gourmet Shop include classic choices such as French Brie "Ermitage," Camembert Vieux AOC, and Parmigiano Reggiano PDO. Ready-to-eat French meals are also available.
Gourmet Shop is available online.

While it is a butchery, Carv offers a pretty well-stocked selection of cheeses ranging from brie and gruyere to cheddar and manchego. You can pick up a cheese and charcuterie board for parties, too.
