What do you like in bed? Who do you fantasise about? Are you frustrated with sex or does it hurt? We asked, you answered and here are the results.

Admit it: We’re all a little curious about how our fellow Singaporeans are having sex. So we did a deep dive into the secret sex lives of married working mothers in Singapore, with an online survey on our website.

Working mothers like yourselves candidly shared everything from how many times love-making happens in a week, to your changing attitudes towards sex. Maybe you wonder why we even asked these questions?

It’s to help make relationships stronger. Once we all know more about what’s working in the bedroom, we can share practical ways to keep love alive, right here in Singapore.

Busting out lacy undergarments seem to be the first step most women take when they want to spice things up in the bedroom. The survey found only 15.6 per cent have tried introducing sex toys into the bedroom.

Only 1 in 5 readers say they are satisfied with their sex lives and all those surveyed say there wish they were having more sex. 60 per cent of we asked also confessed that they want their husband to be better in bed.

1 in 4 women says painful sex is their biggest sexual concern. Some sex-wrecking culprits contributing to the pain include vaginal dryness, yeast infections and vaginismus. But there’s a silver lining to their cloud: “Most conditions that cause painful intercourse are very treatable,” says Dr Debby Herbenick, author of Sex Made Easy.

Doggy style pips out missionary 42 to 31 per cent, and another 26 per cent prefers being on top.

20 minutes… that’s how long a majority of you say sex should last. Nearly half of those we asked say they don’t have enough time to have sex, however, despite sex only lasting an average of 5 to 9 minutes.

2 to 3 times a week

That’s the average frequency of sex, which means those surveyed are having sex 5.6 times a month. 25 per cent of you said that you’re only having sex thrice a month though, while another 11 per cent say it’s more like once in three months for them. For comparison, the regional average among other Asia-Pacific nations is 7.7 times a month.

The big O

One in four respondents says she reaches orgasm each time she has sex, while 60 per cent say it only happens occasionally.

Peak performance

58 per cent of our Singaporean respondents say they had the best sex of their lives when they were 26. This is line with global figures where women said their libido was highest between the ages of 18 and 24. Guess we’re not as prudish compared to the rest of the world!

When it comes to problems in the bedroom, there are two extremes. Half of you choose to talk with your partner to come to a resolution, while the other half chooses to do nothing.

When asked if they were virgins before they got married, 80 per cent said yes.

Too busy

That’s the reason 45 per cent give for not having sex. Other reasons why our readers aren’t getting down and dirty? They’re too stressed out, feeling unwell, exhausted or they can’t find a sexual partner.

Wild thoughts

21 of our readers confessed that their wildest fantasies consist of having sex in public. Some other sexcapades shared with us include doing the romp with a cowboy, role playing, taking part in a threesome and getting kidnapped and straddled by a total stranger. Outrageous!
